Our Founder’s Story
For years, I trusted a hair and skincare product that claimed to be herbal or plant-based. One day, a familiar scent stopped me cold — the smell of petroleum jelly itself.
Curious and concerned, I researched the ingredient “mineral jelly” and discovered it was essentially the same as petroleum jelly — the very thing I was trying to avoid. I felt misled and determined to find a better way.
I wanted transparency, honesty, and products made from truly nourishing, organic ingredients — nothing synthetic, nothing harmful. I didn’t want chemicals disguised behind clever labels. I wanted to feed and care for my body with nature’s best.
Together with my son, I embarked on a mission to craft something different. Through research, we uncovered the multi-functional power of herbs — plants that strengthen hair, soothe scalp, and heal the skin. Inspired by this wisdom, we began blending and experimenting with natural, plant-powered ingredients.
This journey led to the creation of New Grease, originally named Savurahair. While the original never received complaints, we rebranded for simplicity and broader appeal.
New Grease is a clean, green, vegan balm designed to nourish hair, scalp, and skin with wildcrafted herbs and organic oils. It offers the protective qualities of traditional balms of the past — but upgraded for a new generation seeking conscious, transparent care.
New Grease was our first product, but it was never just a product. It laid the foundation for Above and Beyond Holistics — a brand committed to integrity, transparency, and the healing power of nature.
